Acting / Drama
I'm a writer, director, dramaturg and facilitator based in London, with over six years of teaching experience. Having graduated from the University of Bristol in 2019 with First Class (Hons) in Geography and trained as a playwright at Tobacco Factory Theatres, I'm currently studying MA Advanced Theatre Practice at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
At the age of 18, I became one of the youngest ever creatives to have work nominated for an Off West End Award, co-writing Sharing Stages (Chickenshed). I also work as a freelance script reader for stage and screen, and was part of the initial script development workshops for The Monstrum (National Theatre).
More recent work includes Feel The Love (Chickenshed Young Company) and Butterfly (VAULT Festival), which The Guardian dubbed "a brilliant show full of heart - it's history that is far from dull and has been smacked through a queer kaleidoscope of charm, dark humour and vibrancy".
In addition to my professional work, I am also a Young Company Associate at Chickenshed, where I have been facilitating Youth & Children's Theatre sessions since 2013. I have also run various adult performance workshops, ultimately receiving the Bristol Outstanding Award (Bristol Futures) for excellence in directing and facilitation.
I also volunteer with Just Like Us, going into secondary schools to deliver lessons and workshops on diversity and LGBTQ+ inclusion - often forming an integral part of the school's PSHE syllabus.
Whether it's coaching and redirection for drama school auditions, developing a script for a new project or simply ongoing extra-curricular development and training, I'm keen to accomodate all manner of requests. I'm especially keen to work with tutees who are looking to develop beyond the academic syllabus - whether it's through scene study, guided reading/watching or something totally different.
As a big-believer in student-focused learning, I try not to be too prescriptive in my approach, instead tailoring sessions to individual students' abilities, needs and goals. However, I always strive to create a friendly, relaxed and accessible environment where students can feel comfortable and reach their full potential.
In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreak, I am only able to consider online tuition requests at this time. My fees have been lowered to reflect this.
