Acting / Drama
I am an teacher, practitioner and theatre director. Before I worked as a teacher I was a professional actor in both TV and theatre. I have vast experience and many of my students have gone onto formal training and are now working in the theatre and television. I have tutored students for auditions for LAMDA, RADA, Central, Rose Bruford, ALRA and Laines. Most of the students passed the auditions. My specialism is Shakespeare, although I have expert knowledge of all genres and practitioners. My work has included giving workshops at Sheffield Theatres directing productions here and abroad.
In formal education I have ran and sustained successful drama departments with outstanding examination results, ( up to A'Level). Experience in F/E running various courses for which I am a B'tec Internal Verifier also an Artsaward teacher. My latest production was 'Othello' at The Pleasance Theatre.I have been teaching for twenty four years as well as freelance work as a practitioner.
I was awarded 'Outstanding Teacher Status' in 2010 and nominated for tow National Teaching Awards (2007/2009).
Assessment of my student's needs is a priority with emphasis on prior learning. Contextual understanding is a must. Lessons should be challenging but fun!
