Personal Description:

I am PhD graduate in chemistry in love with mind sports and board games. I have been playing chess since I was 4. It is definitely my sport (yes, chess can be art and sport as well!). My Elo FIDE has reached 2000 a few years ago (my ECF rating is 180) and I am still active playing tournaments as much as possible. I played in the British university championship and occupied the position of deputy president of the Imperial College Chess Club last year.
Moreover, I have experience in many other strategy games (Mind Sports) that require logical thinking and creativity (Go, Hive, Abalone, Othello… ) and I'm happy to teach about these games too.

Teaching Experience:

I have tutored several students privately (online too) and in school classes, both here and in my home country (Italy). I have been teaching to a broad range of students, from primary school to university level. I go regularly through tests with the tutee to check whether the concepts have been properly understood and I am very open to discussion and questions. I have also tutored young students in academic subjects (Chemstry, Physics, Math… )

Teaching Approach:

It is well recognized that Mind Sports can contribute significantly to the cognitive and social development of an individual.
I am patient and friendly, always trying to find a constructive approach to the growth of the learner. Creativity and focus can be boosted by practice but also a relaxed and fun environment and I flexibly adapt my method to people of any age. I strongly believe that board games and mind sports should be used effectively as educational tools.
