I am an easy going and patient female tutor with a good sense of humour. I have a current DBS and happy to teach one to one or in small groups, online, within the Lichfield area face to face, or at my home address.

Tutoring Experience

I taught Functional Skills English and GCSE at Burton and South Derbyshire College for 16 years and then taught English Language at Walsall Adult and Community College. I am now working at a local secondary school. I have experience in teaching learners from primary age upwards, some with learning/physical difficulties, behaviour problems and speakers of other languages. My main subject is English Language. I have taught on the Family Learning Course in local primary schools and have done cover supervisor work in local secondary schools.
I am currently teaching the new GCSE English Language specification privately after obtaining a level 5 in Supporting Teachers to Teach GCSE English, and also supporting in a local secondary school.

Tutoring Approach

I assess my learners and plan sessions from there or discuss the learners needs and priorities and plan a learning programme. All plans are flexible and can be changed and added to at any time. My hourly rate is £25 per hour.
I am available for hourly and intensive sessions during school breaks, and happy to teach on Skype.
