I'm 36 years old and am a qualified secondary maths teacher with experience of teaching primary, special needs and adults. I also mark for Edexcel and now work part time in schools (as a teaching assistant) as i really enjoy working with small groups or in 1-1 situations.

I spend the first session getting to know the student and trying to figure out how to make mathematics relevant to them and to their interests. I tend to approach sessions with a lesson plan in written down and resources ready in order to tackle the biggest barrier that is preventing the student from succeeding.
