A Full-time Online GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Physics & Maths and A-Level Chemistry tutor, of five years experience as a classroom teacher and as a Head of Year, with a Master's degree in chemistry and a PGCE in secondary chemistry. Tutoring Experience

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is the same as it is in the classroom and as research states: It is tailored to the pupil and the knowledge or skill to be learnt, among many other factors. Always upbeat and able to maintain positive relationships with tutees.

Furthermore, many are apprehensive about moving education to an online platform and so was I to begin with. However, after seven years of online tuition, almost solely for the last four years, I can comfortably say that it vastly improves the 1-on-1 nature of the tuition and opens up a huge range of resouces, be it diagrams, simulations, exam papers & worked examples, short videos etc. Often when tutoring in person, I find us both huddled round a computer anyway.

This benefit is only enhanced as the student grows in maturity and focuses on their studies, although I have not once had any behaviorial issues which could not be resolved positively remotely, with the support of parents/guardians, nor to that end has it stopped me carrying out my duty to sadeguard students if concerns arise. In addition, the ease of communication and file sharing now make it one seemless experience.
