Sabrina

My name Is Sabrina, I recently have relocated to Walthamstow. I am a trainee SEN teacher with a significant amount of experience, working with young primary school children including pre-school to key stage 2. I completed my degree in Education Studies whilst working at The Peterborough School. I developed my skills and experience by attending regular training in phonics, literacy and numeracy which has enhanced my knowledge and skills. This has enabled me to be able to understand and teach children in various different ways by considering that each child’s unique style of learning. It is very important to build a strategy and good rapport with the children so that better assistance and 1-1 support can be provided whether it be individually or in small groups.

Tutoring Experience

I am working for a local SEN school as a trainee teacher whilst am attending a teacher training college to complete my studies until next year. I’m working with upper key stage 2 pupils assisting them with subjects such as phonics, reading, writing and number and literacy learning interventions in small groups.

Tutoring Approach

My aim as a tutor is to provide an enjoyable environment where pupils needs are met depending on their behavior and involvement of activities. For students who need encouragement to read, I provide tailored reading list in addition to spelling, and writing. It is very important that regular homework is set for pupils, so that, the work allocated to each pupil is completed independently. This will evidently show how each pupil has attributed to their home work, and this will give me an idea of how well each pupil did, and what measures could be taken to determine the best cause of action for each pupil. There will be a person centered portfolio for each pupil, with their needs, and any 1-1 support that would be required this would enable me to work around each pupil while also ensuring that their needs are met.
