I am a fully qualified teacher with experience teaching both Primary and Secondary pupils, and completed my PGCE in 2010. I moved to York 10 years ago and have established my tutoring over this time. I have recently tutored pupils who have reached and exceeded their predicted GCSE and A- Level results and gone on to take up University places or on to A - Level. Outside of work, I love to travel and visit new places, and I also really enjoy reading to relax.

Tutoring Experience

I am a fully qualified Teacher with over ten years experience in teaching and one-to-one English and Maths tuition.

I have an excellent track record and have references available on request. I currently tutor pupils at Fulford School, Millthorpe, Archbishop Holgate, Pocklington School and Queen Ethelburga’s, so I am particularly familiar with their curriculums.

Tutoring Approach

For my first Tutoring session, I aim to discuss the needs of the client and student. This allows us to set out and agree on a scheme of lessons to achieve the client's goal, and show how progress can be measured. I am very willing to speak directly to the student's teachers at school if this is appropriate, in order to allow my Tutoring to complement their lessons. I make use of my access to exam past papers where this is required, and will set and mark work to be completed outside Tutoring times. My lessons themselves are relaxed and enjoyable, whilst being productive and always showing excellent progress.
