Previously, I worked in AI research for Computer Networks. I then taught in secondary schools and colleges, covering IT GCSE and A Level, Social Media and Maths. Since then, I have been working as a private tutor for over 15 years. My background is in Computer Science, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Also, Advanced Applied Mathematics.

Tutoring Experience

I taught Maths, ICT and Computing in secondary schools for 5 years.
My students were aged 11 to 19, covering subjects from beginner's level to A-Level.
Subjects covered: Maths: Key Stage 3 to GCSE.

Computing: Key Stage 3+, GCSE, A Level, Degree and Masters.
Additional subjects covered: Building websites: Dreamweaver, html & JavaScript.
Computer programming: Python, Visual Basic, Java, C++. Creating computer games and animations.
Machine learning and AI taught to PhD level.
Assembly language, all levels.

GCSE Economics.

Recent achievements:
1) 100% achieved for A level computing project.
2) Gold medal award won by student entering the NASA international competition.
3) Student with no previous computing knowledge, accepted for Masters course in Computer Science.

Tutoring Approach

My aim is to bring the best out of my students, stretching their ability within the pace they can manage.
All classes given are tailor-made to the students' individual needs.
Areas of Maths / Computing causing concern to my students are addressed and overcome. New, advanced areas are introduced when the student is ready.

I expect all my students to progress by at least 1 grade level higher, per year, than previously expected by their school.
Special tips for answering maths / Computing exam questions are given to allow students to write quality answers in the quickest way possible. In this way all my students enter an exam with confidence and a sure notion of their ability and attainment level. (All ability levels catered for)
Cancellation policy: If notice is less than 24 hours the normal charge will be due.
