I am currently a student studying from a Master’s Degree in Computational Statistics and Machine Learning at University College London. I previously attained a Master's Degree from Imperial College London in Civil Engineering and a PGCert in Applied Statistics from Birkbeck University. I graduated from Harrow School Bangkok, where I was awarded the Headmaster's award for leadership and received 4 A*s in my A-levels, 5 As in my AS-levels and 7A*s and 2As in my GCSEs. Being appointed head boy and house captain in school, I had the privilege of working with many students - one of the most important skills I learnt was to be approachable and that, I believe is how effective student-teacher relationships start.
My tutoring experience began in school where I volunteered to help young students with learning difficulties with science and mathematics. Having excelled and thoroughly enjoyed this role, I progressed to tutoring GCSE and A-Level mathematics and physics when I was in 6th form and volunteered at rural Thai communities teaching students with learning difficulties such as ADHD.
During my undergraduate degree at Imperial College London, I tutored 5 students. I specialised in teaching A-level Physics and Mathematics but I also helped a student with university applications. All my reviews have been outstanding with one particular student saying "Teddy is an excellent tutor who I wholeheartedly recommend. He was always punctual and professional. During lessons, Teddy had an incredible way of simplifying complex ideas. He was always enthusiastic about what he taught, engaging, and willing to go the extra mile to help, and that made all the difference".
I firmly believe that a positive and supportive teaching environment brings the best out of the student and the teacher. My approach is geared towards improving fundamental understanding and not imitating to take an exam - this is an approach that I've held true throughout my teaching and throughout my academic career. Teaching my students to fully understand the problem, working-out process and solution are central to my teaching philosophy and I firmly believe that this approach produces the strongest long-term results.
