I am an experienced English teacher with a high success rate. I have tutored GCSE students from grade D-E to A*-A to help them achieve required grades for chosen courses at college and university. I am a high-achieving academic, a confident, focused, and friendly individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. I have achieved great academic attainment through dedication, independent research and long hours of studying. I was involved in teaching during university and have continued offering tuition in various subjects up to A-Levels throughout my academic and professional career. I make lessons friendly and interactive, making sure students feel comfortable, prioritising their needs.

Tutoring Experience

I teach KS3 and KS4 students of mixed ability in English and History. I have helped students exceed expected grades through individually tailored revision lessons, exam and essay-writing practice. I have also been involved in an educational charity (Action Tutoring) supporting pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds to excel and achieve the very best in their academic lives. As an English and History tutor, I prioritise revision sessions and exam paper practice prior to GCSEs.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring is a unique experience. Every student has a different approach to learning. Solid understanding of this is the key to a successful outcome and key to help push students achieve their potential. I would understand the strengths and weaknesses of each student to help them attain the best learning experience by using various revision aids including auditory, verbal and visual aids. I would set tasks to test the progression of the student and focus on any areas the student may find difficult to understand. I will have regular discussions with the student with regards to how they feel they are progressing and ensure I work through examples and past papers to give an indication of areas requiring more focus.
