Hi! If you don't like chemistry (especially organic!) or you think you will never understand it, it's because you haven't met me yet! :)

I'm Maxime, I'm a native French and super friendly young guy, fluent in english, and I'm a Doctor in chemistry after I did a Ph.D at the University of Nottingham. I now work as a development chemist, making new medication for our future! Naturally, chemistry is my thing, particularly organic chemistry! I have a lot of experience in private tutoring in chemistry (speaking in french and english, but not both at the same time, that's weird!) and I've also been a demonstrator in teaching laboratories in the school of chemistry of the University of Nottingham. So I really like to teach and you will notice it very quickly!

I am fully confident with online lessons. I much prefer face to face if you're lucky to live close enough from me, but distance works too. I can only travel to you if you live really close as I don't have a car, but if you live too far away from me and you are struggling with chemistry, I promise I will be worth the trip or taking online lessons :)
With the pandemic, I had to adapt, so I now can teach you very well from a distance :)

For university, all you need is my 4 golden rules in organic chemistry, and you'll be set for good, you'll see! One of my university students started with 20% in second year, finished her second year retake at 50% and scored 80% the following year!! Do you want that too? ;)

Tutoring Approach

Listening to my student's needs is key. I like to prepare myself properly so I will ask all the lessons and exercises to be sent to me in advance so I can start to work on it and make it worth it for you! I already have a lot of books and of course significant experience helping students achieve their dreams!

Over the years I became more and more able to find the appropriate words and different tips to help people to understand. Basically, I will adapt, and this is something I will say on the first lesson: you are the boss! Tell me what you can't understand and we will find a way to solve that problem together! And I'm actually the best at finding silly and funny mnemonic ways to remember something, I found it helps my students a lot to remember difficult aspects of this science. They worked, they still do, and they will work with you!

I will write a lot during the lesson, and everything I write will be scanned and sent to you straight after we are done. So it's nice and convenient for you to follow what I say.
