My 11+ students have received offers from St Paul's, Westminster, City of London Boys, UCS, Merchant Taylors', Mill Hill, Maida Vale, Queen Elizabeth's Barnet, Dulwich College, James Allen's Girls' School, Alleyn's, Whitgift, Royal Russell, St Dunstan's, St Olave's, Haberdashers, and Sydenham. They received 15-40% academic scholarships.

All my GCSE students went up two levels, and one Science student went from level 4/5 to level 8/9 in five months.

My secondary students successfully applied to Rugby, Uppingham, and Clifton.

After completing my A-Levels at James Allen's Girls' School, I received a First Class BA in History at Pomona College in California. I specialise in tutoring Maths and English.

Tutoring Experience

In my last ten years as a tutor, I have worked with students in the English and US educational systems. I specialise in preparing students for the 11+, GCSE, and A-Level exams. I particularly enjoy working with students aiming for higher education who are trying to learn the study skills necessary to succeed in a demanding university environment. I also work with homeschoolers who need a tailored curriculum to meet individual educational needs and reignite a love of learning.

I have four years of experience tutoring online students from age 6 to 18, in the US, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, and China.

As a tutor, what is most important to me is to find a way of teaching that the student understands. To accomplish this, I design lesson plans tailored to my student's strengths. By looking at each individual's study skills, I am able to understand why the student is having difficulty with certain concepts. This is particularly crucial when working with students who are in transition from one school to another. Together we work to find an approach that will help the student to fully understand material. These tools help my students to excel in their exams and further studies.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring should be lively and engaging, and never boring. I aim to make tutoring something your child looks forward to during the week. I work with your child's interests to tailor lessons to their learning style. I specialise in online tutoring, using games and online classroom tools to engage children of any age.

For students seeking intensive exam preparation, I can design a bespoke curriculum lasting three to nine months. This is suitable for applicants to top schools at the 11+ level. It is especially useful for children in schools without adequate 11+ preparation, students who have taken time off due to illness, or older students preparing for GCSE or A-Level retakes.

You can expect a report within 48 hours of each session with details of your child's progress and tailored homework assignments.

I can provide DBS/CRB documentation on request.

My trial rate is £50, and my standard rate is £90 plus travel. After the trial lesson, bookings are made in blocks of four weeks to reserve a regular slot for your child. I am available for in-person tutoring after 6th January, and I am happy to travel to your home, with travel time charged at my standard rate.
