I am a highly successful and experienced teacher of English at secondary level. I have worked in a variety of educational settings and helped many students achieve their potential at GCSE level. I am very passionate about my subject and strive to make my subject accessible and enjoyable for each and every student.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in a secondary school since 2002 and achieved consistently good results at KS3, KS4 and KS5 (English Language). I have extensive experience of teaching students with special educational needs, adopting a range of approaches and strategies to suit their learning style.

From 2002, I have also tutored students for GCSE and enjoyed it immensely, ensuring students gain the grades they need and building their confidence for approaching exams.

Tutoring Approach

-I firmly believe in personalised learning and will adapt resources and my teaching style for each student. Together we will create a teaching programme to target and address areas for improvement.
-I have always had an excellent rapport with my students, with a firm but fair approach.
-I fully understand how difficult it can be for students who are approaching exams, and can be available via e-mail in the evenings to offer extra support.
