I am a retired primary/secondary teacher, living near Bradford, West Yorkshire. I keep up to date with all the changes in education because I have six grandchildren who I help and tutor.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught for over 40 years and am an expert in teaching English and Maths to children and adults of all abilities. Over the years I know that the majority of children struggle because in Maths the basic skills and calculations are often wrong. And in English grammar is often weak and techniques in comprehension and writing have not been grasped. Sort this and everything becomes easier and confidence builds. Problems disappear.

Tutoring Approach

I believe lessons should be fun and challenging. I know that there are lots of different ways of teaching a subject and all children/adults learn differently. It is my job to find out why a child/adult is struggling and plan lessons to put this right.
I am now offering on-line tuition as a way forward. I work through Skype, Messenger, or Facetime, and email work in advance for students to view or print prior to our lessons. I have a laptop, Desktop, and Mobile telephone to use when working with students.
