I am a French graduate who has lived in France and I have taught French extensively from age 3 to adult over a period of more than 30 years. However, over the last 20 years I have taught Latin as well as French and can offer both subjects up to A Level. I retired from my teaching job in the summer of 2017 and therefore have much more availability both daytime and evenings. Most of my tutees come from word of mouth recommendations or from younger siblings of those I have already tutored.
I have 30 years teaching French in schools and tutoring individuals and 20 years teaching Latin, both up to A Level standard. I have worked as an Examiner for AQA for a number of years at GCSE level. I have taught Latin at Prep school level since 1997 and at GCSE/A Level since 2005 and am familiar with most of the set texts which are part of the literature specification.I have been an Examiner for A Level Latin Prose Literature for two years and am familiar with the set texts.
My initial approach is diagnostic. What does the tutee find difficult? Which areas does he/she wish to focus on? I will set work to do and give detailed feedback as to what and where improvements are needed.
