Hello! I am a teacher at two Oxford colleges, one online school, and a Canadian university. I’ve been tutoring for 10 years, online and in person. I have a First in English and a Master’s in Shakespeare. I help students understand specific texts, prepare for exams, structure coursework, get ready to apply to university, and audition for drama school through my fun and engaging sessions.
I have a Master’s degree in Shakespeare & Performance and a First Class degree in English Literature.
I am based in the West Midlands and remotely teach at Greene’s Tutorial College Oxford, Kennedy Colleg Oxford, and the LEO School. I have also taught Shakespeare at summer schools at Oxford University.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
My Master's degree in Shakespeare & Contemporary Performance was awarded by Birkbeck College, and conducted with The Globe Theatre and RADA. In 2014 I won the Birkbeck Shakespeare Prize for my research, and my essays are used as models for other postgraduate students.
I also have a First Class BA in English Literature & Language from the University of Leeds.
I tutor in English Language, Literature & Drama for ages 14+. I also provide intensive support for higher education, and in particular giving guidance to university students at undergraduate and postgraduate level who may be struggling with coursework, dissertations and theses, and preparing for drama school auditions.
My tutoring style is charismatic, personable and understanding. The thing I prioritise is listening to the student, in order to focus on their wellbeing and confidence in the subject. My clients have described me as friendly and patient, giving the time and focus in order to provide detailed feedback and support the student as fully as possible.
My tutoring is about offering useful advice and support in a way that every student can relate to. The student and I are always on the same level.
For me, getting to know students and how they work in order to adapt the tutoring to their specific needs and working style is the key to unlocking their potential.
