Norman Julian

I am an experienced and successful A-level and GCSE tutor of Chemistry,BioIogy, Physics and Maths. I am a fully qualified teacher and have a degree, and masters degree in Chemistry. I researched into analytical techniques at university and in industry, and have always been fascinated to teach. I have applied my knowledge and skills to working as a teacher and in R&D (research and development) in international companies. Now, I want to help others achieve their aims. Science and Mathematics are essential subjects, and I hope that my professional and friendly approach stimulates and encourages my students to take the challenge of learning these subjects successfully. Many of my students achieve A/A* grades and go on to study medicine and science at top universities.

Tutoring Experience

More than 12 years experience as a teacher and private tutor in chemistry, biology, physics and mathematics. I tutor Chemistry and Biology at AS/A2 level, GCSE and KS3, Physics and Mathematics at GCSE and KS3. I have researched Chemistry related topics and the life sciences, both at university and in international companies. I am an experienced and fully qualified teacher with a PGCE (postgraduate certificate in education) and registered with the the General Teaching Council of Wales.

Tutoring Approach

I motivate my students to achieve to the best of their ability, initially assessing their level to find their strengths and areas to improve. A firm foundation is established based on the student's learning style, and on which to build knowledge and understanding of the subject. My experience of science both in research and in teaching, and my enthusiasm for the subject, means I can offer a quality learning experience, and I nurture the confidence of my students, ensuring they exceed their expectations in exam grades.
