Maths and English Tutoring in Walsall

Online places now available for the summer term.
Hi, thank-you for reading my profile. I am an experieced, fully qualified teacher and have been successfully tutoring full-time for the last seven years. I have a good track record in helping my students to achieve good grades & to progress to their next key stage.

I have spent the majority of my career in Education, helping children and young people to achieve and to reach their own true potential. I have taught both in schools and in the community, in voluntary organisations and in people's own homes.

My students consistently achieve good grades, whilst also improving in confidence.
Before deciding to follow my passion for tutoring, I
worked for a local charity as Curriculum Development Manager, teaching English and Employment Skills to young people and adults, who were struggling in school and college.

Away from teaching, I love spending time with my family, I have two grown - up children, I enjoy the arts and travelling around cities.

Tutoring Experience

I have spent the last 7 years successfully tutoring children from key stage 2 to key stage 4, from 11+ to GCSE and from KS2 SATS to IGCSE in both English and Maths. The majority of my tuition is online, which means I now teach internationally and across the UK, as well as locally.

I have over 30 years extensive teaching experience, which has been evenly split between mainstream and alternative education in the West Midlands area. I have successfully taught English to a range of ages and abilities in Primary, Secondary and Further Education settings.

I have an excellent success rate in supporting my students to achieve qualifications and to progress towards their next goals, by focusing on their individual learning needs.

I aim to personalise tutoring sessions to match your child's particular syllabus, course or learning needs.

Tutoring Approach

I am a friendly and caring person and I believe in an holistic approach to teaching and learning, which builds confidence and self - worth whilst promoting effective exam techniques and developing subject expertise.

My approach is to develop an individualised learning plan by assessing current attainment levels and ensuring this complements ongoing work in school or college. This is in negotiation with parents/carers to ensure that there are set smart targets, which can be tracked to monitor your progress.

I am a professional and positive tutor who aims to get the best results from my students, whatever level they are at.
