Online Tuition for Maths and Arabic

Hi, I am Mohammed, an experienced educator with over a decade of teaching and tutoring expertise. My passion for teaching is unwavering, and I'm dedicated to helping students excel academically. I hold a First Class Bachelors Degree in Mathematics from King's College London, and I've earned a PGCE from the Institute of Education (UCL). Throughout my academic journey, I consistently ranked among the top students of my year, as demonstrated by my award for academic excellence in Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics A-levels. Currently, I serve as the course leader for both Maths A level and Further Maths A level at a leading Sixth Form college near London. In my free time, I'm a devoted linguist, delving into various genres of Arabic literature, and I'm also a visiting lecturer at one of London's most prestigious independent language schools.

My tutoring specialties include:
• GCSE Maths (including KS3 and Further Maths)
• A level Maths (including Further Maths)
• Pure, Mechanics, and Statistics
• Arabic up to and including degree level
• Online lessons available

I bring a calm and patient nature to my tutoring sessions, making them ideal for students at any level. What sets me apart is my ability to tailor my teaching to each student's unique needs. As a teacher in a Sixth Form, I've witnessed first-hand that individual students' needs are not always met in traditional classroom settings, due to factors like contact time and varying ability levels. One-on-one learning with an experienced tutor who understands the challenges students face is invaluable. My goal is not only to bridge these learning gaps but also to create a customized program that sets realistic and achievable goals for each student. I've seen remarkable transformations in my students, with many achieving two or more grade improvements in just a few months. One recent student, for instance, jumped from an E grade to a B during a summer of focused tuition (students who I have taught have left feedback of 5 stars). I find immense satisfaction in helping others improve and achieve outstanding results.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching in schools and colleges for over 10 years and have tutored many students over the past 15 years all having reached their goals. Students have been from a wide range of backgrounds.

A number of my students have achieved A/A* and are studying at top Universities such as Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial College, UCL and King's College. Some students I have recently tutored:

  1. Ronan: A level Maths grade A to A* Currently studying Medicine at University of Leeds
  2. Sabihah: GSCE Maths grade 6 to a grade 9 also A level Maths Grade C to A Currently Studying Pharmacy at King’s College London
  3. Shaheen: A level Maths grade B to A*
    Currently study Engineering at Imperial
  4. Nathan: A level Maths A to A* Currently studying Engineering in the US (Full scholarship)
  5. Lia: A level Maths Grade C to A Currently studying Biomedical Science at Bristol
  6. Jaswinder: GCSE Maths Grade 7 to 9 and A level Maths Grade B to A* Currently studying Medicine

Not to mention the numerous students I have taught in sixth form and school who have achieved their target grades.

Tutoring Approach

Every student is unique, so I like to tailor my tuition for their needs. My method includes:
- Initially assessing the student’s strengths and weaknesses.
- Listening to the student's problems to find what they find difficult.
- Targeting the areas the need most development to ensure my time with them is used in the best way possible
- Setting work outside of lessons for students to practice what is learnt during lessons in order to gain proficiency/mastery in subject areas
- Applying different teaching methods and styles to suit the student's ability. As no to learners are the same.
- Friendly approach which encourages student's confidence to ask - questions without hesitation
- Breaking down a large problem to manageable parts to ease understanding
- Students are provided plenty of exam practice which is provided when they are ready and have thoroughly understood the topics.

The main reasons why students achieve lower grades are:
- Lack of knowledge
- Lack of question practice to ensure proficiency in topics
- Lack of exam practice,
- Lack of time management skills during an actual exams
- Lack of practice to recognize keywords/key sentences in exam questions.

So, I would put lot of emphasis on the above factors in my lessons. I aim to give students the tools that will last them past the exam.

All the students I have taught in the past have achieved great results and have moved on to study at the most prestigious universities.

As mentioned, I teach Maths at all levels and offer lessons online and in person.
