I am an experienced National 5, Higher, Advanced Higher and University level tutor with expertise in English, History and Philosophy. I have always loved learning and I am able to work with a range of abilities, whether you need help with exam preparation or help with tricky assignments or essays, I am more than happy to help.

Tutoring Experience

I am a MA qualified English Literature graduate from Cardiff University, and hold A Levels in English, History and Philosophy. I have extensive experience in academic work, and I have worked in the Higher Education Sector both as an English Literature student and a member of staff for the last six years. I have experience in delivering in 1:1 tutoring, small seminar groups and also speaking at academic conferences. I enjoy helping others with their learning and find it to be very rewarding, both for the tutee and the tutor.

Tutoring Approach

I approach tutoring by establishing the areas that the tutee would like to develop, and identify where I can help you improve and also seek to build confidence. It is important to me that I provide a safe and trustworthy environment where a positive learning environment can be fostered.

I am happy to focus on single aspects of a course, or a course as a whole:
• How to write and improve critical essays
• Folio and coursework help
• Textual Analysis and exam revision
• Reading for Understanding, Analysis and Evaluation

I can also provide proof reading and feedback for undergraduate and postgraduate University work.
All my tutoring is one-to-one and this can be done face to face or via online learning. I am happy to meet tutees either at their home or in an agreed public space such as a café or library if this is a preferred option.

Tutoring is £30 per hour. Taster sessions available.
