I provide support and study skills for exams and homework support for children and adults on all academic & vocational courses.
I have current Enhanced DBS and Safeguarding Children certificates. All tuition is currently being provided online via Zoom, FaceTime, WhatsApp, Skype etc. I have previously tutored students in Dubai and U.S.A very successfully and now my home tuition students are reaping the benefits. This is very easy and a fun, but effective, way of learning.

Tutoring Experience

I have worked as an experienced and qualified tutor for over 25 years. I teach English and maths from primary to GCSE and verbal reasoning, reading, writing, spelling and speaking/listening skills to those with and without learning difficulties such as dyslexia and to those whose English is a second language. I have worked as Dyslexia Coordinator arranging and providing one to one support to those with specific learning difficulties such as Dyslexia, Aspergers & ADHD. I can provide excellent references from schools, colleges, previous students and their parents. I have also worked in multiple primary and secondary schools and colleges over the years. In the role of teaching, writing learning programmes for teachers and for parents and carers of children in family learning.

Tutoring Approach

I use a multi-sensory (visual, auditory and kinesthetic) approach to teaching which includes providing specific reading and spelling programmes when appropriate. I give positive, constructive feedback to maximise learning. I also use basic sign language (BSL) with young children to make learning fun and to assist with spelling. I provide homework, prepare students for exams & interviews and ensure improvement with literacy skills to encourage independent learning.
I have recently developed the Double Learning Technique - available in TRemoved - Highgate Books.
