I specialize in working with motivated adult learners who need to get to fluent within 1 to 1.5 years.

I come from the Czech Republik where I studied Philosophy at Charles University. After MA degree, I continued with another degree in Theology.

Holder of Großes Deutsches Sprachdiplom (level C2 - the highest certificate), I continually strive to master all aspects of my knowledge of German to a nearly native level. At the same time, own experience of learning German as a second language enables me to effectively lead tutees and focus on key elements necessary for progress towards fluency.

Tutoring Approach

Effective methodology aimed at quick progress through lower and intermediate stages towards establishing functional fluency; challenging the learner, setting measurable objectives for a time period.

The concept comprises of classes and structured and guided self-tuition, focus on effective learning techniques and enhancing the learner's potential to absorb new grammar structures and vocabulary, to really adopt and start thinking in the new language.

I use carefully selected materials that are suited for one-to-one tuition as opposed to group/classroom courses. Today’s learning materials available in Britain are almost exclusively based on intuitive approaches. Whilst great for young learner these are, in my view, not necessarily most effective with adult motivated learners. I tap into resources and techniques that, apart from ‘learning as babies‘ also make use of all capacities and learning strategies we developed since childhood, so I also make use of more rigorous and structured materials that have completely gone over board in the last decades. If creatively integrated with intuitive approaches, I believe there is nothing more effective for a fast progress.

Not least, I have developed methods to foster regular learning habits and to maximise use of available time and potential of the learner to the degree that many times vastly exceeds expectations of the individual about what they themselves are capable of. You will be able to really delve into a very intensive learning process, even if you think you have little time. So, quite importantly, my classes bring economic benefit as fewer tutor-lead units than usual will be necessary to achieve a given objective.

Between classes I am at the disposal for queries, urgent clarifications or correcting, quickly getting back to the tutee.
