Hi, my name is Gill, and i'm a 23 year old freelance drummer and tutor. I have just finished my BMus (hons) degree at The Academy Of Contemporary Music in Guildford. I have been drumming for 8 years and during that time have been lucky enough to have been taught by some of the best tutors and players in the UK. During this time I have gained a lot of live experience through working in both function and original bands in the South of England. I listen and play as many different styles of music as I can as I feel by learning one style it helps improve playing in another and vice versa.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching private drum lessons for the past 18 months, where I have experience in teaching both one to one and small groups 2-3. I teach from beginner to grade 8.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to teaching is that all my students enjoy the instrument which in turn leads to them wanting to learn more and improve. I tailor each lesson to the students' needs and learning style making the material relevant to their individual drumming goals. I use a wide range of material from well respected books, material that I have created myself incorporating my own teaching methods and graded books. By doing this it ensures that all my students not only become well rounded drummers but also well rounded musicians.
