I am a retired RAF Officer and Project Management Consultant with a CELTA qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. I enjoy working with adult students who are competent in written and spoken English and wish to improve their conversational skills and/or writing skills.

Tutoring Experience

I have over 5 years experience teaching classes in 3 different language schools. I have also provided 1:1 sessions in my home and online tuition using Zoom, Skype or Facetime. I have also helped foreign students prepare for IELTS and FCE examinations. I have worked as a project manager in several large organisations, so I am able to advise on the use of English in a business context if required.

Tutoring Approach

I like to build a friendly and relaxed relationship with students so that they can ask questions and tailor the lessons to meet their requirements. I try to make lessons as informal as possible and avoid formal grammar topics unless they are relevant to a student's requirements.
