I am a qualified teacher, historian and musician with 6 years' teaching experience across a variety of classrooms, from state schools in the UK to language schools in the Czech Republic. I pride myself on my ability to identify and solve students' difficulties, helping them to 'get unstuck' and teaching them the skills they need to become independent and enthusiastic learners. No matter your starting point, I can meet you where you are at and get you where you want to be.

Tutoring Experience

PGDE and CELTA teaching qualifications
Middle Leaders experience as Head of Religious Education in the Greater London area.
Four years' experience as a history teacher in the Greater London area.
Three years' experience as a private tutor of TEFL, history and singing.
Three years' experience in TEFL schools in the UK and the Czech Republic.
Experience with adults, secondary school and primary school age learners.
Exam syllabuses including Edexcel GCSE, IELTS English exams, and International Baccalaureate.

Tutoring Approach

I am used to using a variety of approaches depending on class size (individual or small group), student age, and the goals of the student.

My focus is on helping my students to understand the learning process, so that they can ask the right questions and take charge of their own learning. I will provide you with resources and guidance to help you practise independently so that you can build on the progress you make in your lessons with me.

I have a thorough knowledge of several exam syllabuses and can teach you the techniques you need to do well in exams, but I also want to help you set your own targets and have fun with your learning!
