Calum

Hello, I'm Calum and I am currently the faculty head for science at Fraserburgh academy.
I completed my PGDE in Secondary teaching Physics with Science, at The University of Glasgow, after a 4 year Honors degree in Physics, also from The University of Glasgow.

Tutoring Experience

I have experience in teaching all levels from Nationals to Advanced Higher Physics.
I have great understanding of the assessment standards for certificated classes, through my role in school but also with multiple years experience working with the SQA as an exam and course work marker.
I have tutored semi-regularly since I was an undergrad student but since starting to teach have tutored regularly over the last 10 years.

Tutoring Approach

As an SQA marker I can offer great insight to students about the requirements of each examination, highlighting the specific requirements of each question type.

Using a wide variety of resources, I would allocate time to go over a chosen topic providing notes. I would then encourage the learner to complete questions/activities and attempt past paper questions. I can also provide homework for learners to act as a further guide to their revision,

I can provide the learner with electronic copies of resources if required.
