I have three first-class degrees in English Literature, including a PhD, and have taught for nearly twenty years, working with GCSE students through to Master’s level students.

I have a proven track record of success, having helped students to win presentations, prepare for and gain access into their chosen collages and universities, and pass their examinations with excellent grades despite being on track to fail when we first met.

I am passionate about English Literature, regularly attending and presenting at conferences and keeping up to date with the most current research in the field.

My enthusiasm for helping people to see and fulfil their potential is infectious, and I absolutely love to watch my students’ confidence grow as they begin to believe in themselves as much as I do, and attain the results they’re looking for.

I work with students on coursework preparation and the re-drafting process, exam preparation, revision skills, textual analysis (including poetry), creative writing and much more.

Tutoring Approach

When I work with a student I cater solely to their needs, adapting my tutoring style to best suit their style of learning and learning goals. During my first session with a new student, I’m looking to see how they work and any blockages that might have previously gone undetected.

I like to keep my lessons upbeat and fun, finding creative and relevant ways of working with syllabus material that can sometimes feel stale and irrelevant in the twenty-first century.

My style is supportive and encouraging, and I will never, ever, let a student feel silly for not knowing something. The more questions, the better!
