Personal Description:
Highly articulate, professional person, and passionate about teaching and learning. My strength lies in my ability to establish a rapport of mutual respect with my students, colleagues and parents.
I have been teaching for more than 20 years now in a number of countries and variety of curricula.
I started my teaching career in South Africa, after which I moved to Taiwan teaching English for two years.
I then moved to the UK and taught there for 10 years at an Independent Prep school following the ISEB curriculum. Here I prepared students for their 11+ Entrance Exams in Maths, and 13+ Entrance Exams in Geography.
I am currently teaching at Cranleigh school (British Curriculum) in Abu Dhabi, UAE as a Year 4 Homeroom teacher. Furthermore, I am also the Prep school Internal and International Exams Officer - which means I am responsible for the the annual standardized (UK) assessments throughout the prep school.

Tutoring Approach:
Although I believe traditional (school) education meets the needs of the social development and basic education of a child, I also know, from experience, that children thrive with 1:1 education (tuition). This is because of the personal interaction wit regards to teaching and learning, the immediate feedback and intervention. I am therefore, a true believer in a "blended" approach to teaching and learning.
I always aim to assist my students to develop a “big picture” understanding of their world – to achieve this, we must teach in a way that promotes understanding and not just the recall of facts.
My students will see drastic improvement in their grades, GUARANTEED!
