Information About Nicole - Bellville tutor

Personal Description:

My name is Nicole . I was born and raised in KwaZulu Natal, where I completed my schooling career at an IEB institution in a small town called Newcastle. I managed to maintain a 'top 3' position throughout high school and ended up receiving the DUX award in my matric year. Science has always been my passion and I've always wanted to help others to share that passion.

After high school, I want to Stellenbosch University to do a BSc degree in Human Life Sciences, and I'm now busy with my Masters in Human Genetics at the same institution. (so lots of Biology experience!)

I'd say I'm pretty easy to get along with. A good tutor-tutee relationship where both of us are comfortable with one another is key. I will go the extra mile for those that are willing to put in the work. :)

Tutoring Experience:

I've tutored a limited amount of learners over the past few years - mainly grade 11 and matric IEB/Cambridge Life Sciences.
For the past year, I've been tutoring a grade 5 learner with all of her subjects - those lessons have now switched to online lessions, which I've enjoyed. Due to the lockdown, I have a lot of free time, so I'm now looking to start tutoring high school learners again.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm very passionate about human Biology, so I try to share that passion with my clients by making the subject material interesting and relevant to them. Fun facts are always a good way to start… I prefer to answer your questions instead of just teaching you everything. But with that said - if re-teaching you everything is what you need then I am all for it! So long as you give me a heads up beforehand, it's all good.

I generally unpack and explain tough concepts and then question/test you on the subject to make sure that you understand. It's preferable for the learner to have gone through the information beforehand so that they know where their problem areas lie.
