Personal Description:

I am an experienced AFRIKAANS gr. 10-12 teacher and online tutor (CAPS and IEB). I love nature, cats, have a passion for literature and enjoy tutoring Afrikaans. I am also a marker for Afrikaans and a qualified proofreader. I prefer using ZOOM for my lessons, because it more stable and user-friendly for online lessons; therefore most my lessons are 40 min. and not one hour and the tariff is R160 / 40 min. lesson (R250 /one hour lesson). Lessons WEEKDAYS (mornings and /afternoons). Support 24/7.

Experience in a nutshell:
Online teaching: online e-tutor Afrikaans HL and FAL gr. 10-12 CAPS / IEB (6 years) + e-tutor: university level = 11 years
School teacher: Afrikaans FAL gr. 10-12 = 6 years
Total teaching experience = 28 years

Tutoring Approach:

Many English students students are struggling with Afrikaans, because they do not have the necessary vocabulary. Online tutoring offers a personal and friendly educational environment to a student in need of one to one assistance on a regular basis. I am using ZOOM/GOOGLE MEET for lessons and use shared online documents, giving both tutor and student the opportunity to see and work on the same page simultaneously. Notes and documents will be send to the student after every lesson and feedback of the lesson to the parents.
The success of an online lesson depends on good communication between tutor and learner/student. When there is a feeling of mutual trust between both parties, the learner/student will have the confidence to communicate his/her uncertainties/problems, resulting in the building of confidence on a personal level, as well as in the relevant subject. Punctuality is of the utmost importance for both parties, as there are more than one lesson during lesson time slots from Monday to Thursday afternoons.
I know learners/students are experiencing problems or may have questions between lessons, therefore my package includes free e-mail and/or WhatsApp communication whenever the learner/student needs my assistance or advice to finish homework or a task.
