Personal Description:

There are several reasons why I tutor: is that I love languages, especially English, I love children, and I love assisting all ages to learn languages. I am a passionate journalist and writer, and I have learned the beauty of English and how to use it and teach it. I am a mother of two teenage boys and my husband is a conservationist. My second passion is the Environment, our Earth. We live in Cape Town in a quiet suburb near the ocean and the mountain.

Tutoring Experience:

I started tutoring in 2004 on an environmental education course for South African youths. I started primary and high school teaching in 2014 and simply love it. I have worked for several tutoring agencies, and I also have private students. I understand the South African CAPS curriculum and I love to see a child light up when they understand a topic. I like to use printed resources, online resources, games, videos, quizzes, and more to ensure all students benefit from my classes.

Tutoring Approach:

Every student is unique with unique needs, which I establish early on. I like to use printed resources, online resources, games, videos, quizzes, and more to ensure all students benefit from my classes. I can add time management skills, study skills, gentle mentoring and self-esteem building with goal-setting and attaining achievements. We are all learners and educators, so I like to learn from each student and then spend time mapping out a suitable plan for each one.
