Am an Industrial and Manufacturing engineering graduate, with a strong mechanical engineering background, proud author and designer of engineering projects recognised with various awards. I hold a upper second class degree from Harare Institute of Technology (2016), Higher tertiary education certificate, Harare Institute of Technology (2016), Class one Apprentice trained fitter and turner, Hunyani paper and packaging (2009-2013), Certificate in machine-shop engineering, Harare polytechnic (2011).
I started tutoring as a relief mathematics and science teacher at Young africa skills centre in 2008 after completion of my Advanced level, where I attained a 80% pass rate. Since then I have been a private tutor to vast subjects from primary level to university level including research and projects.
My approach varies depending on the student’s ability, needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to participate, emphasising on the concept, using real-world examples to demystify subject wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don’t lecture to students but teach them how to study, research not to ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students’ homework for them. I am of the notion that as long as you can read and write then you qualify to be a first class student, and also every one can achieve extraordinary results in any field of study. My moto is motivation and inspiration for my students to set personalised goal.
