Registered SATs assessor for UK Government.
I aim to make tutoring enjoyable. This is especially important as New Zealand offers so many other activities for children that I would aim to capture thier interest. The first session will be a assessment session; this is where I will learn what the next steps in learning are for the pupil. From this, I will devise a plan of teaching and activities (both digital and written) using my expertise. Using short assessments, You will be able to see the progress made by your child over the coming weeks. For reading, focused guided reading sessions, one to one reading, shared reading and basic phonics work come together to make a confident and coherent reader. Going back to basics in maths is usually the key to solving more complex problems, finding that gap in understanding and addressing it can usually lead to rapid progress.
