Personal Description:
My name is Nicola , I love sport, music, fashion and helping others.
Tutoring Experience:
I was employed by the Mathematics Department at the University of Otago in 2008 and 2009 while studying towards a Bachelor of Science. I became self-employed in 2014, and have built up a good client base which has seen some pleasing results.
I have recently completed my Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) and am in the process of becoming a provisionally qualified teacher. I have an extensive knowledge of the New Zealand curriculum and am up to date with the latest teaching practices.
Tutoring Approach:
I pride myself on being able to personalise individual lessons for each of my students and am well aware of their needs.
I believe my rates are highly competitive and cost effective. The programmes I offer are tailored to meet the student’s individual needs and instruction is paced accordingly, to build confidence and maximise their potential. I invest in my students on a personal level and am committed to supporting and encouraging them to be the best they can be in the subject area offered.
The first session is free and will involve a meeting with the student and their parents to discuss what help is required. This also gives the student the opportunity to determine if my style of teaching will suit them.
Happy to tutor one on one and in small groups of up to three.
