Personal Description:
Kia ora! My name is Lily and I am a dedicated and enthusiastic English teacher with a Master's degree in Teaching and Learning. I am committed to inspiring students to develop their language skills, critical thinking, and love of literature.
Tutoring Experience:
I have taught at various New Zealand Secondary Schools over the past five years and am currently having a break from full-time teaching to focus on starting a family. I have experience teaching Year 9 - 13 in a variety of subject areas, including English and Media Studies (up to NCEA Level 3) and Social Sciences (up to NCEA Level 1).
Tutoring Approach:
My teaching approach is focused on making students have fun and enjoy the subject they are learning. I do this by building relationships and getting to know the students passions and interests and incorporating these into my lesson plans. I find that if the student has fun learning a skill, they will be more likely to remember that skill in the long run!
