Personal Description:

I am an English and Ancient History Major (specialising in Roman and Egyptian History) with a passion for learning, and penchant for the arts. I enjoy dance, music, diving and am an avid reader with a vast knowledge of literary works. Areas of literary interest include, 19th Century Literature, Critical Thinking and Theory, Middle English, Colonisation and Afro-Carribean Diaspora.

I am an active learner and one of my favourite pastimes involves perusing scientific journals, reading epic poetry and learning new languages,

I am a fluent English speaker, but can also speak Afrikaans (though not as confidently) . I can also read Ancient Greek and some Hieroglyphics.

Tutoring Experience:

I am familiar with the Cambridge A Level curriculum for English, Classical Studies, as well as European, American, and Palestinian-Israeli history.

As I am not originally a native English speaker, I am very conscious of the barriers that can arise when learning a new language, this makes me a sympathetic and patient tutor.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching focuses on engaging students with the material at hand, in a friendly relaxed environment. I try to relate the teaching matter to the student's interests, which aids in bringing the content to life.

My goal is to foster individual thought and critical thinking, to help students achieve outstanding results, that are uniquely their own.

Because we as individuals have our own distinctive way of learning, I will tailor sessions to a student's own form of learning by employing multiple methods of teaching i.e linguistic, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.
