Personal Description:
My Name is Hosea I am of Vietnamese ethnicity. I went to high school at Macleans College and am currently studying for an undergraduate degree in Software Engineering at the University of Auckland (2nd Year).
Despite my results I have not always been an excelling student. I've struggled with learning in the past, and through determination and hard work, I was able to achieve my goals. I hope to be able to show my students how to study and be able to do the same.
My hobbies include: Tennis, Football, Piano, Running, Gym, Fitness, Gaming, Reading.
For the past 3 years I've worked at the warehouse but I've come to realise that I'm no longer enjoying working here and that my passion is to to share my knowledge with others to help them succeed in the learning.
Tutoring Experience:
I've previously taught 5 students from ages 8-45 years old for 3 years, so I have a lot of experience teaching students of all ages. I can teach Cambridge curriculum for physics and maths and First year Engineering at the University of Auckland
Tutoring Approach:
My philosophy in teaching is to have students understand the concepts and apply them rather than memorising and ro**Contact Detail Removed**arning, as I've also struggled with this. By understanding the concepts instead of memorising them, you can use your flexible knowledge and apply them through basic principles to overcome difficult problems. I love teaching and sharing my knowledge with others; I always approach lessons with a kind and welcoming heart.
The typical length of lessons is 1 hour but can be longer if needed.
I am also currently in 2nd year of Engineering studying software engineering at the University of Auckland with a 9.0 GPA
I also excelled in Cambridge A Level in physics and maths, where I got A* in both subjects.
-For First year I got top in class for Materials Science, Introduction to Engineering Computation and Software Development and Electrical and Digital Systems
I will be able to teach:
-Any subjects in First-Year engineering
-Physics and Maths from Year 13 down (A Level and below)
