Personal Description:

I am a highly qualified and passionate ESL teacher and have worked with secondary and tertiary international students from over 40 different nationalities across the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors over the past 25 years. I adore interacting and motivating learners of English. If success in speaking, reading, writing, listening, grammar, vocabaulary, IELTS or any other ESL need is what YOU need, then I would be thrilled to tailor tutorials to match those needs perfectly.

Tutoring Experience:

Currently a senior teacher of English and e-learning curriculum developer at the Otago University Language Centre, Dunedin, New Zealand. I have taught ESL in Thailand, China and Japan. Author of ESL teaching materials and editor of TESOLANZnews - the New Zealand TESOL industry newsletter. I have taught via Zoom in groups, and 1:1 and of course, face-to-face. Overall, I have loved every minute of my 25 years of passionate and successful teaching of English.

Tutoring Approach:

I have an extremely professional, holistic and friendly approach to teaching, based on sound practice and contemporary methodology. I use communicative methods to inspire and instruct and a lot of student-centered activities and close tutor to student interactions. My students are never bored! I analyse strengths and weaknesses and develop materials to suit each individual. Together we can improve your English language success, whatever your goal may be!
