Personal Description:

I have completed a Bachelor of Science, majoring in nutrition, with a year studying psychology. I've always enjoyed learning new things and have found that it is this enjoyment which has fuelled my previous academic achievements as well as my desire to help others succeed in their own learning. I have a broad range of interests but have personally found great joy in helping other people learn!

Tutoring Experience:

Throughout high school I tutored mathematics and chemistry as a volunteer. In my final year of high school, I worked for a tutoring company for a short period, continued volunteer tutoring at my high school and worked as a private tutor. I have been a private tutor since 2017 till present, tutoring biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics (including calculus) and English.

Tutoring Approach:

It's helpful when a student brings a particular question or topic they have been struggling with. I'd firstly ask how the student usually studies and their general approach to learning, then I'd run through the question at a pace that fits the student and the relevant concepts and theories needed to answer that question. I find that teaching a logical way to approach challenging questions helps build confidence for taking future tests and exams. Many students also find the incorporation of their specific learning preferences into their studies improves their grades and enjoyment of school.
