Personal Description:

I completed my Master's of Biomedical Sciences (honours) specialised in microbiology from The University of Auckland.

I work full time as a research & development consultant for an international firm and I also tutor NCEA biology in my spare time.

I am passionate about teaching and helping students to understand the fundamentals of science. I also offer advice and guidance on what to expect in this field if they're interested in pursuing science / biology at the university level.

Lessons with me are completely online through Skype as I have recently moved to Melbourne. Most lessons will involve me screen sharing, note sharing and blackboard drawings to easily communicate the contents across to the student.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been offering private biology lessons since 2017 at all different levels, but mainly focused on NCEA Level 1 to 3.

I also have teaching and tutoring experience during high school and university.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to tutoring is to make sure my student is comfortable with the curriculum contents for internal assignments and external exams by developing a strong science foundation and build out the technical knowledge from there.

I am happy to help students keep up with their current school work or teach ahead, it depends entirely on what pace is most suitable for the student and what they're comfortable with.

I am patient and I understand that sometimes repetition and extra explanation would be needed for thorough understanding.

I bring extra materials to facilitate my teaching and also use them as revision.

I can also help in the transition process from high school biology to university papers as I know many people struggle in their first year of university due to the lack of preparation / understanding.
