Personal Description:

Alumni of UCC. Graduated in 2007 with a second class honours degree in Law and German (BCLG)
Studied in Germany for two semesters as part of the Erasmus program. Completed my year abroad with an distinction in my thesis on European Law.
Excelled in my final year of study in UCC particularly in translation modules.
Fluent German speaker.

Tutoring Experience:

Two years teaching Higher Level German for the leaving Certificate at Mel College Cork.
Taught for six months at an English language centre in Poland.
Engaged with numerous students of hight level German in a grind setting with excellent results.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds has always been exam centred. Initially I aim to discover an accurate picture as to each students ability and from there set a challenging yet realistic goal. I believe that majority of students have the ability with extra help to rise at least one grade higher than what they normally receive.
I attach special significance to the Oral portion of their exam as I feel it is often an area that students struggle with due to a lack of confidence.
Basic grammatical correctness can be achieved rather easily and combine this with strategies to deal with the more difficult Aural portions I feel I put students in an advantageous position to achieve a higher grade and make their transition to University easier.
