Information About Sophia - Dublin tutor

Personal Description:

Hello, my name is Sophia. I sat my Leaving Cert in June of 2022 and achieved 625 points (including a H1 in maths). I also received 7 A's in my Junior Cert back in 2019. I would say that I have really hacked the Irish secondary school education system and I am excited to share my skills, tips and tricks with other students.

Tutoring Experience:

I provided online math classes to a first year student. I first evaluated the student’s learning style and then provided appropriate techniques for maximum understanding. We mainly worked through past papers and their homework questions. I also included some extra exercises that really focused on the student's weaknesses. The classes were held online, however, I ensured there was active engagement throughout the full hour. I also developed instructional material on a Padlet that was easily accessible to the student.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds includes:
- identifying the key areas of where the student is struggling
- finding a unique learning strategy that suits the student
- making sure the student understands the content
- working through past papers, homework, additional exercises
- whilst making the classes as interactive and fun as possible :)
