Konnichiwa! I work with the Dublin Education and Training Board in creating Adult Japanese courses in Dublin. I have also taught Leaving Certificate and Transitional Year Japanese in multiple secondary schools for the past 3 years. I have Grade N1 (The highest level) in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test as of 2020. I teach at multiple levels, for a variety of courses, and happy to work with you to create a course to suit your need. Check out my free recourses below to get a preview of material I use.
I have 5+ years experience teaching in Ireland and Japan. I taught English (EFL) and Music in Akita Prefecture, Japan. Having taken the Leaving Cert Japanese exam myself, I know the course inside and out, and am happy to give tutelage directed to the grade you'd like to recieve. I have taught many students that have gone on to sit the JLPT N5, N4 and N3 exams.
Approach to Grinds:
All you need to bring is a willingness to learn! I teach through numerous mediums to give you the most well rounded experience possible. The most valuable approach to private lessons is to do as much work as you can outside of our lessons, and approach the teacher with questions and to cement what you've learned. I am flexible with regularity, I have students I teach twice a week, and others monthly. We can work it around what works best for both your studying schedule and personal goals.

I really enjoy every lesson I have, and I always come away feeling like I've done something worthwhile with my time. I had been trying to learn Japanese by myself for a full year before starting lessons with Shereen and it was like banging my head against a brick wall.
Perhaps the most important thing that I gained was that I learned about the areas that I didn't know. I don't mean actually learning new things, but rather exposing the things I didn't realise needed to be worked on. Establishing a kind of checklist of things to work on helped a lot and each lesson, Shereen would come with little tasks and games that helped me work on those problem areas until I was comfortable with my skill level. Lessons progress casually with a lot of input and direction from the student.
This felt nothing like my formal education, and I mean that in the best way possible. Shereen is a pro at making difficult work seem easy. I give her my highest possible recommendation, five stars, all gold, 100 percent. If you're looking for a tutor to guide you through the murky waters of 日本語 then going with Shereen is the right choice.
