Personal Description:
I am a fully qualified, registered and experienced teacher of French and Spanish. I have been teaching for ten years and am currently teaching in a secondary school in Cork. I have a B.A. in French and Spanish from University College Cork and graduated from U.C.C. with a first class honours in my Professional Diploma in Education in 2013.
I am a very patient teacher and I always ensure to work with my students at a pace that they are comfortable with in order to help them to achieve their full potential.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching in secondary schools for the past ten years and have gained a great deal of experience, teaching students of all levels and abilities, from complete beginner to university students. I have built up a wealth of resources and teaching materials and vary my teaching style depending on the individual needs of my pupils.
I have also worked as an examiner for the State Examinations and correct mock examinations each spring.
I have been giving grinds for the past five years, working with students preparing for State Examinations as well as adults wishing to take up a new language. I prefer the one-to-one approach as it caters for the needs of every student and gives them a chance to build their confidence in a supportive environment.
Approach to Grinds:
I am passionate about teaching and take great pride in preparing lessons that are engaging and tailored to the individual needs of my students. I also build my lessons around the interests of my students and make them as meaningful and relevant as possible. I know that there is no "one size fits all" in teaching, all students have different learning styles and needs and I vary my teaching style to suit that of each student.
I provide notes and materials for my classes each week. I am also very happy to mark students' work and provide them with clear feedback on areas where they need to improve to help them to achieve their full potential.
