Information About Ruud - Cork tutor
This is how a referee rated Ruud:
I am a graduating PhD candidate in Philosophy at University College Cork, having previously studied English and Philosophy. I am also an active proofreader and editor, having worked for graduate students and PhD candidates on short essay projects and longer dissertations.
I have years of experience as a lecturer dealing with large amounts of students, and facilitating the learning process in terms of curriculum design, overseeing examinations, and conveying complex ideas and knowledge to students.
I have also served as a tutor and teaching assistant who has dealt with smaller groups, and this has allowed me as a teacher to engage students with each other on the basis of shared dialogue.
Lastly, I have worked in one-to-one tutoring as a grinds tutor where I have worked with individual students for exam preparation and material discussion. This has given me an excellent ability to accommodate myself to the needs of students of varying backgrounds and ability.
Approach to Grinds:
I first establish the with the student the areas that need to be clarified, and then ideally meet with them, go over the material initially and then break it down, addressing questions and concerns at each point. We begin and end each session by reviewing the aims of the lesson, and set out a plan for what we need to go over in the following session.
