Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Rosie, a language tutor from the West of Ireland. I studied Applied Language and Translation Studies (French and German) at DCU, where I developed a strong foundation in both languages and a real passion for teaching them.

I offer online tuition in French and German for students at beginner and intermediate levels. Whether you're preparing for the Junior or Leaving Cert, starting from scratch, or simply looking to build your confidence, I’m here to help.

I studied French throughout secondary school and received an A2 in my Leaving Cert. I picked up German as a beginner in university and quickly grew to love it, so I understand what it's like to start a new language from the beginning and how to make the process fun and achievable.

My lessons are friendly, supportive, and tailored to suit each student's learning style and goals. I'm passionate about making languages enjoyable and accessible for everyone.

Tutoring Experience:

Over the past 10 years, I’ve gained a wide range of teaching experience through offering French and German grinds to students at different levels. This includes helping Junior and Leaving Certificate students prepare for exams, as well as supporting friends and family members who were learning these languages.

While I haven’t taught in a formal classroom setting, my one-on-one and small group tutoring experience has given me strong skills in explaining grammar and vocabulary clearly, identifying student needs, and adapting my teaching style to suit different learning preferences.

I’ve worked with students who were struggling with the basics as well as those looking to achieve top grades, and I always aim to make lessons engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each individual. My experience has strengthened my desire to become a language teacher in a formal capacity in the future.

Approach to Grinds:

In the initial lesson, I give a small test to see which areas need to be worked on the most.

From there I create a learning plan for the student and together we work through various topics each week.
