This is how 2 referees rated Robert:
Hi, I'm currently a (scholarship funded) PhD student in Computer Science (Maynooth University) having just completed an undergraduate degree in Computer Science and Pure Mathematics called Computational Thinking with a first class honours.
In my Leaving Certificate, I received an A1 (now H1) in Higher Level Mathematics, with an overall points total of 575 CAO points. I also won the Maynooth University Maths Department award for mathematics in all three of my years in Maynooth (Delort Prize, McMahon Prize and De Brun Prize for Best Double Honours Mathematics Student). I additionally have experience in carrying out research projects and have co-authored academic papers on fields related to data science and mathematics.
I have over one hundred and fifty hours of paid demonstrating experience in Maynooth University, which involves the guidance, correction of and assistance with university students' continuous assessment assignments. I also solo teach a group of first year university students a course on programming languages and database interaction annually. I am currently the head demonstrator of three separate modules in Computer Science in Maynooth.
Approach to Grinds:
My approach to grinds will be tailored to the individual student. I intend to identify their areas of weakness in the curriculum and assist in improving that aspect of their knowledge through demonstration, practice and correction of sample questions on those topics. I will also set optional work for the student to do outside of the grind hours on topics in which practice would be beneficial.
