Personal Description:

Hello there, my name is Pól and I am looking forward to meeting with you. I'm located in Rathmines, Dublin. I am a down to earth kind of guy from the west of Ireland and have a keen interest in sport, languages, cultures, travel, history, politics, philosophy among other things.

I hold the following qualifications;
BA (Irish, Geography, NUI, Galway)
MA (Modern Irish language, NUI, Galway)
PMEPP - Professional Masers in Education Post Primary (Hibernia College, Dublin)
TEFL - Teaching English as a foreign Language (NCFE, England)
FLTA - Fulbright Foreign Language Assistant (One of 9 awardees from Ireland)

I speak Irish fluently and I'm currently learning Spanish and Russian myself. I'm keenly aware of the challenges of learning a language and as someone who learns languages online myself I'm well placed to help you.

Tutoring Experience:

To date I have worked in many educational environments in four countries; two universities (one as program coordinator), four secondary schools, two Irish language summer schools and three English language summer schools (one as manager). My employments are representative of a committed and capable professional.

Approach to Grinds:

I take a serious structured approach meeting the learner at their own level. My teaching style is based around perfect practice makes perfect. Taking such an approach means I focus on language learning as a process, similar to building a house, becoming comfortable with the language structures as we build solid foundations before looking to embellish it further. This means learner time is maximised and ensures student confidence builds quickly.

With me, student learning is thorough, using a series of detailed notes which I share with the student, voice recordings (especially for the Irish oral). My structured learning approach where I focus on spoken language removes the stress from learning a language - as it should be, making it as simple.
