Personal Description:

I am currently training in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy at Turning Point Institute. I have previously studied at NUIG achieving a first class honours degree in Denominated Psychology. I also subsequently completed a Masters of Science degree in Health Psychology at NUIG. I love teaching and tutoring and thoroughly enjoy research. I have previously completed two theses and have experience in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, of which I prefer the qualitative approach.

Tutoring Experience:

I presently work as a tutor at university level for first year students, covering a wide array of topics, including but not limited to social psychology, personality psychology, developmental psychology, and research methods. This position also carries the responsibility for assignment correction and the provision of in-depth feedback to each student for the effective progression and development of academic skills.

I have also recently begun a role as research supervisor for final year students undertaking their dissertation process. This position warrants the effective and reliable support and guidance of students through each step of the dissertation process, including research proposal, ethics application, study methodological development, study conductance, formation and interpretation of results, and, finally, writing up of the final document.

Approach to Grinds:

My approach to grinds is collaborative between tutor and student, with the aim of allowing the student to develop and attain the necessary academic/research skills for achieving their goals, within an environment of support, guidance, and encouragement. The grinds are developed according to the needs of the student, in whatever area is warranted, be it academic writing, research skills, exam preparation, or the dissertation process. Extensive and in-depth feedback, including proof-reading, is also provided to each student.
